i think most jw's expect that your world will fall apart once you leave the org.

you will start using drugs, sleeping around, tea party with demons, you know all of the typical bullshit horror stories like oh did you hear that (insert name here) left the truf, and now his wife left him, he lost his job, he is homeless and being ass raped by demons!

oh no thank jehovah we are all still in.

Having known some that went off the deep end after leaving the bOrg, they were following a pre-programmed doomed departure course. It seemed that after they lost connection, control, and direction from Central Command, they wanted to try every evil thing that had previously been prohibited. They lost their friends, family, and emotional support system and many became self-destructive in their actions.

All would have benefitted from a visit to JWD to see that there is happy and fulfilling life after JW... as I'm learning.

I need your help responding to my old JW friends email

hello guys, todya i recieved an email from an old friend of mine within the jdubs... he did the usual jdub thing get married really young and as such we lost touch.. he since found me on facebook and has been bugging me about my decision to leave, i talked to him a little but his mind is completely closed and irrational so i was having little success saving him from the cult and as sich i decided to end the call.. by saying "your happy and i'm happy so lets leave it be and aggree to differ" - however he wont let it rest this is his email: any help in responding would be most appreciated!!

ps... how ironic that he should mention george orwell when he lives within a cult that epitomizes the 1984 book!!

Okay, if I agree that the problems of the world are getting worse, how does that make Jehovah's Witnesses the true religion? Is that supposed to be one prophecy they've gotten right out of dozens they've gotten wrong? They certainly aren't trying to make the world a better place. They're cheering on the deaths of billions of people. And they call themselves "right hearted"?

So, this boy may be married, but is he happily married? Does his wife know he's looking at skin on the Internet?

Information Control- The Governing Bodies Way of Controlling JW ' s

by now , most of you have probably been aware that the watchtower society and governing body has done a real cover up on the child abuse scandal that came out this year .

it has truly been amazing , that in spite of nbc news coverage of the child abuse crisis in the organization - probably 90 to 95 % of jehovah's witnesses did not know it even took place or happened at all .

the governing bodies way of exercising " information control " on the jehovah's witness rank and file members !

My guess is that the best way to get JWs to listen to outside information is through the householders, since publishers are required to talk to outsiders in field service. What happens when all the householders know about the pedophile issue?

Unfortunately, just as 97% of JWs are unaware of the issue, probably about 99% of householders are unaware of the issue. Although the story made NBC national news, it only aired once, and was easily either missed or forgotten. However, if the same story was in hundreds of local newspapers throughout the country, where householders could read, and re-read, and show the article to JWs, then it would be a different story. Would the FDS suddenly say, "oops, better not talk to those evil householders anymore"?

Anybody have experience circulating news releases?

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to speak on the subject of hypnosis, but there are certainly other obvious techniques for mental manipulation in the meetings and publications.

There is obvious peer pressure to do as directed and not to question. If there is any question, repeat the same thing over and over, browbeating as necessary.
As evident with the new Watchtower Study Edition, there will be more privacy from outside scrutiny.
As noted, use of terms such as "independent thinking", and "worldly" cause a fear of actual thinking.
Repeated use of expressions such as "Faithful and Discreet Slave Class" cause followers to believe that such an expression occurs as often as the name "Jesus" in the scriptures. Simply looking up the one occurance in Matt 24:45 shows it's not a class and it's illustrative. Luke's account of the faithful steward ties it in directly with Matthew's "Evil Slave".
Pointing out any deterioration of world condition is used to emphasize that WTBTS is right about everything. And any idea of leaving the bOrg will lead to a personal death spiral and damnation.

Depression will continue to grow. From a publisher's perspective, giving everything is still not enough. Six Billion humans are about to be destroyed and it's YOUR fault.

I hadn't heard anything inside the bOrg about the UN/NGO membership until recently. When I brought up about the NBC pedophile story and the scandal it could cause, a brother told me that the pedophile story was no big deal and would be as quickly forgotten as the Society's UN/NGO membership scandal.

Nope, I don't think there's a carpet big enough to sweep the pedophile issue under. And perhaps now is a good time to resurrect the UN/NGO issue while they're tripping over their lies.

as you guys are probably aware, the new watchtower for studying has shed new light on the generations issue (ie whoops we got it wrong, we were right before) .

the co's here in aus have been briefed to inform the congregation (either formally or informally) that is is part of the cunning of jehovah .

when jesus parted the non beleiver disciples from the core 12 (or was it 13) he made an outrageous statement and watched the weak walk off - thats exactly what jehovahs organisation has done today .

If the CO is refering to the account at John 6:51-71...

(John 6:53-56) 53 Accordingly Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him.

There is no parallel account in any of the other gospels to this event, so we just have the word of one witness on this. Also, he used this strategy how many times to sift out the weak? Okay, so Jesus did this once, maybe. So, why has the FDS used this 'sifting strategy' about a dozen times with the word "generation" alone?

According to the Greatest Man book, two stories later, came this account...

(Matthew 15:21-31) 21 Leaving there, Jesus now withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Si´don. 22 And, look! a Phoe·ni´cian woman from those regions came out and cried aloud, saying: "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is badly demonized." ...28 Then Jesus said in reply to her: "O woman, great is your faith; let it happen to you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour on.
29 Crossing country from there, Jesus next came near the sea of Gal´i·lee, and, after going up into the mountain, he was sitting there. 30 Then great crowds approached him, having along with them people that were lame, maimed, blind, dumb, and many otherwise, and they fairly threw them at his feet, and he cured them; 31 so that the crowd felt amazement as they saw the dumb speaking and the lame walking and the blind seeing, and they glorified the God of Israel.

Okay, so if the FDS has the authority to 'sift' like Jesus did, why can't they heal like Jesus did? And we don't need the 'spiritual' healing line. I think the real spiritual healing occurs at places like here at JWD.

Why you still go on Field Service? Why Elders posts on JWD?

just wondering if your conscience bothers you that you are continuing to "spread the jw gospel"?

do you have plans to stop fs soon?

My answers:

Why do you still go in Field Service?

Well, I haven't really gone in real Field Service in a long time. I do go out, make return visits which are mostly social calls, and pad my time. I have to continue to stay 'in' for family, friends, and work reasons. I don't have to worry about successfully recruiting any new JWs. That just doesn't happen around here. So, I don't feel guilty, I just feel like it's a waste of my time.

Why do I, as an Elder, post on JWD?

Because I'm a hypocrite, I guess. It's the circumstances that I've gone from a believer with all my heart, to seeing that everything is wrong. I'm so angry about the lies and the wasted years and opportunities, that I intend to help as many others get out of this 'prison' before I turn in my keys and walk away.
